The timber-haulage system uses a vehicle with front and rear winches to drag logs after felling into a haulage lane, being particularly for thinning. Paying-out of the rope from the winch is controlled by radio by the tree-feller during a first operation, after which the feller secures it to the tree trunk, before or after felling. He then transmits a further radio signal causing the winch to wind the rope in, either directly or via guide pulleys, observing its journey to the dumping point. A third radio signal then stops the winch, after which he detaches the rope from the trunk.
