Winch drive mechanism for mobile unit - has common hydraulic circuit supplying haulage winch motor and smaller storage winch motor

The winch is partic. for tractors and other mobile contactor's machinery, having a rope running from a storage drum to a haulage drum, by which it is hauled in or paid out and round which it is wound for several turns. The haulage drum (8) is driven by a hydraulic motor (19) in a system which also incorporates a motor driving the storage drum (9). Operation of the first motor is controlled by a regulator so as to wind the rope (10) in and out, while the storage drum motor is permanently supplied at a set pressure tending to wind the rope in. The haulage drum motor is appreciably more powerful than that of the storage drum, so that when paying out it overrides the latter.
