The feed mechanism is for the wire of a forming press and consists of a pair of rollers (6, 7) which are oscillated through gear wheels (4, 8, 5). One gear wheel (4) is driven by a crank (9) and connecting rod (16) from a second crank (12). The connecting rod is attached to the second crank by a block (19) which slides in a slot. The block can be moved along the line of the mounting shaft (18) by a screwed rod (20) driven by a worm (21). The movement of the block alters the effective length of the arm (15) which changes the angular travel of the crank and the stroke of the feed mechanism.
