Electromagnetic spring-pressure brake with conical braking pad - uses basic design with ventilated conical brake, control spring and fixed DC supply excitation coils

Used for rotary motors with axially non-displaceable rotor the proposed spring-pressure typebrake is designed for reduced design costs and to allow an additional range of applications of the motor brake to be developed and yet reduce the number of design variations. A basic design with ventilated cone brake, central spring and one or several fixed d.c. supply excitation coils is used and allows exchange of parts without alteration of the basic design to allow fitting out of an automatic adjusting device, that does not adversely affect the use of the two e.m.f.s of the shaft for other drive purposes.
