摘要
The combustion engine has two rows of in-line cylinders (1, 3; 2, 4) in which the cylinders of one row (1, 3) are longitudinally staggered relative to those of the other row (2, 4). The cylinders have inlet (8, 9, 10) and exhaust valves (11-14) operated via a camshaft (5). When seen in plan view, the lines connecting the centres of the valves of each cylinder are inclined relative to the longitudinal direction of the engine such that, seen in side elevation, all the valves are equally spaced. All valves may be operated via strikers from a common camshaft, which is centrally arranged between the two rows of cylinders.
