Air desiccator cartridge - has absorbent in concentric inner cylinder with heated central outflow tube

A desiccator cartridge, for use e.g. in air blast circuit breakers, contains the active moisture absorbent in an inner cylinder within a cylindrical housing. The air enters and leaves the inner cylinder through perforated end plates and leaves the cartridge through a central tube in the opposite direction. This results in a better air flow, specially during the desorption. Channeling which is detrimental for optimum drying is eliminated and the beads do not move relative to each other. This prevents abrasion and dust formation.
