A shaft carries a turbine and an air compressor and is extended to drive an electrical generator or other machine. The air from the compressor flows to the turbine through an ejector nozzle which is supplied with hot gases provided by the exhaust of a conventional boiler or the combustion products of an incinerator. The air is compressed adiabatically in the compressor to the same temp. as the hot gases. The mixture of compressed air and hot gases is expanded isothermally in the first stages of the turbine and then adiabatically in the last stages before being exhausted at atmospheric pressure.
