A slide magazine without separating bulkheads has the edges of the slides profiled with keyway grooves. These fit over profiled ridges along the side walls and on the bottom of the magazine. The profiles provide a secure and accurate hold of the slides in the magazines without a large cost. The magazines are simple to produce and hanle and the slides are fitted into the magazines without danger of falling out. The ridges can be replaced by a series of parallel shafts on which the slides are threaded using holes bored along the edges.
