The method involves sliding a portion (10) of a key forming tool into an end of a metal profile (1), along a longitudinal direction, until the portion is located at a distance from an edge of the end of the profile equal to the length of a part (5) to be folded. Another portion of the key forming tool is applied against a surface (10a) of the former portion of the tool, where another surface (10b) of the former portion of the tool is applied against an internal face of the profile. An independent claim is also included for a key forming tool for fabrication of a wheel cover, comprising a folding part.
