Liq. fuel burner assembly - has thermally conducting heat resisting baffles spaced around hemispherical flame spreader

The burner for liq. fuel is based on a previous design and has a hollow, hemispherical, perforated distributor (1). It has its convex side facing towards the inside of a convergent cone shaped air-fuel mixture duct. The projected surface area of the distributor is greater than the duct outlet area, the latter beign chosen to give discharge at above flame propagation velocity. The combustion efficiency is enhanced by a deflecting baffle (2), or baffles, of thermally conducting heat resisting material. These baffles are fitted around the distributor, pref. underneath. The baffle shape, size and angle can vary.
