Glow plug for liq. fuel fired vehicle auxiliary heating system - has heat resisting, electrically non-conducting core to spiral filament

The glow plug for liquid fuel fired, vehicle auxiliary, heating systems is basically conventional, having a spiral-wound filament (6) with its axis perpendicular to that of the plug. However a heat resisting, electrically non-conducting core (7) is fitted into this filament but not touching any other part of the plug. This core may be a length of asbestos rope, or a porous ceramic plug grooved to fit the wire.
