The sealing arrangement releasably, resiliently and relatively movable connects hot pipes (1, 5) partic. in a car engine exhaust system. The pipe ends have flanges (7, 8) with a projection (2) on one flange (7) sealingly extending into a spherically concave recess (4) in the other (8). The flanges are connected by spring clips (9, 10) and a captive sealing ring (6) is contained around the projection (2) in the recess (4). The ring comprise a mineral fibre or similar filler contained in metal wire meshwork. Part of the metal wires consists of temp. wear and corrosion-resistant steel whilst the remainder is corrosion-resistant with good friction characteristics. Filler and wire mesh are pressed together to form the contoured ring cross-section.
