The ford cutter on which the slice depositing arrangement is used, incorporates a circular cutter (1) and a plate (2) on which the meat to be cut is placed. The cut slices (8) are removed from the cutting area by means of a number of narrow, spiked transport belts (4). A swining arm (6) has a number of protrusions (7) which fit, when the arm is in the 'up' position, between the transport rollers. The arm is swu ng round by means of an electro-magnetic drive (10, 11) and deposits the slices on a platform (3). The movement of the arm is in phase with the cutting movement.
