摘要
Leukaemia is treated by establishing extra-corporeal circulation of the blood contg. leukaemia tumour cells and irradiating this blood with UV rays in the presence of a phenothiazine amine (I) as radiation sensitiser. The appts. for obtaining a thin layer of the blood for irradiation is also claimed. Suitable phenothiazines (I) include methopromazine, thioproperazine, prochlorpemazine, acepromazine, levomepromazine, promethazine, alimemazine and esp. chlorpromazine. (I) is perfused into the blood at the radiation zone at a dose of about 2 mg./kg. body wt. It is usually infused slowly at 0.5 ml./min. as an aq. soln. contg. 10 mg. (I)/ml. The UV radiation is usually at 2200-5800 angstroms.
