The expansion joint for civil engineering works has two winged plates (8, 9) connecting two chevron shaped plates (2, 3) saced by compressible filler boards (4, 5) and the semi rigid elastically deformable longitudinal plates (31). It is a butt joint with the construction elements cast or placed in contact with it. The joint is supported by feet (27) which are shaped at the top to fit the wing of the joint (13) and which rest on foot plates (25) which can be fixed to the ground with bolts through the holes (26).
