A flexible membrane used to cover a manometric chamber for converting hydrostatic pressure to an mechanical sealed reading is made of material resistant to petrol fumes, specifically of a copolymer of vinyldiene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene. Esp. suitable for mfr. of fuel gauges for motor bikes, where the shape of the tank cannot accommodate a conventional automobile gauge system. The chamber is connected via a partially restricted tube to an open pipe facing upstream into the fuel pipe.
