The mounting supports a feeler (9) which is used in the calibration of cylindrical bores, comprising a fixed sleeve (1) contg. a rotatable shaft (2). A projecting shaft extremity enlarges to form a frontal plate (4) upon which the revolving head (8) with feeler-holder (7) is mounted, and the shaft extends between thrust-bearings (5, 15) affording zero clearance to the frontal plate (4). In addition, the axial rigidity of the assembly is ensured by not less than two cageless needle bearings (10). Couplings (19) at the free shaft extremity may provide for connection to an electric reduction motor, or to an extension shaft, and the frontal plate may incorporate a collector type printed circuit on an electrically isolated segment (4A). A cursor system may be incorporated in a fixed plate (3) which aligns parallel to the segment (4A), revolving electrical connections ensuring the transfer of gathered data from the feeler (9) to the amplifier (A).
