Automatic translation of different languages - using tape recorder associated with microcomputer with memory having stored codes for different languages

A minicomputer is used in conjunction with a tape recorder to provide automatic translation of one language into another. This allows persons of different nationalities to communicate with one another without recourse to interpreters or dictionaries. A mini computer and tape recorder system are contained in an enclosure which has a keyboard (4) which allows a phrase to be entered into the memory. Two loudspeakers (10, 11) operate in conjunction with switches (8, 9) to enable the phrase to be spoken in the operators language or another language. A press button (15) enables the memory to be loaded while another press button (16) allows a phrase to be read repeatedly. A lamp (6) indicates that the search mode is available and a second lamp (12) indicates that the search for a phrase or word is complete.
