The outboard motor is housed in a casing (16) fitted with a fixing bracket (9) on the front side. The transon is made up of two horizontal beams (23, 24) with vertical struts (26). An elongated slot is formed by th short bar (29). The fixing bracket has a lug (9, 9') fitting in the slot and a land (15) resting on the beam (24). A locking peg fits in the hole (15a, 24). The top end has a latch (30) fitting over the bar (23) and a lug (13) located under the bar. The locking pin goes through the holes (27) in the stanchion (26) and through the hole (14) in the lug.
