The concrete is used for constructional purposes, and, as compared with conventional concrete, its density is lower, and its water repellant properties are greatly superior; it is pref. also impervious to moisture or gels, and is highly resistant to ageing. The polymer used in the concrete is expanded polystyrene, which is precoated with an adhesive so the polystyrene beads bond to the constituents used to make the concrete, and the uniform distribution of the beads throughout the concrete is ensured. The concrete is very suitable for internal-, external- or marine-structures.
