Double glazing spacer profile - with sealant applied by extrusion to grooved rectangular tube walls

Spacer section for double glazing consists of a rectangular tube of suitable rigid material which holds two glass panels at the desired distance. Tube carries on the two side walls facing the glass a number of parallel grooves. Sealing material which is capable of forming an airtight closure for the air space between the panes is applied to these sides. This sealing material is pref applied by an extrusion process. Suitable materials for sealant include polysulphide rubber, silicone rubber, hot-melt, butyl rubber and similar elastomer.
