PRODUCTION OF LAP FROM SLIVER IN SLIVERRLAP MACHINE

PURPOSE:Required number of slivers are divided into two groups and each of them is passed through an exclusively used drafting machine, then they are combined in parallel into one lap, which is wound up, thus producing laps with reduced uneveness in drafting. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of slivers that are necessary for making a lap with a prescribed weight are divided into two groups A and B. Each of them is fed to different drafting machines 5A and 5B where, as 5A and 5B, the drafting machines used in drawing machines are employed to give good drafting results. Draft rollers 6A, 7A, 6B, and 7B may be relatively samll in diameter. Separately drafted sliver groups 1A' and 1B' are arranged so that both of edge slivers becomes adjacent to each other and they are fed to the calender roller 9 to form one lap where a separate guide 13 is provide to prevent the damege of the slivers and make them into one closely arranged lap.
