PURPOSE:Titled complex useful as a redox catalyst, an NOx scavenger, etc., prepared by reacting a specified compound with a monomethyl ester of an iron porphyrin complex, then hydrolyzing the ester part of the product and reacting the hydrolyzate with an amino group-containing polymer. CONSTITUTION:A sterically hindered closely positioned base type high-molecular iron porphyrin complex represented by formula III, wherein A is a monomer unit containing an -{N(H)a} group in the main chain or the side chain, a is 0 or 1, B is a copolymerizable monomer unit, l and m are each a mol% of each monomer, l+m=100%, l0, m=0 and R2 is H or methyl, is prepared by reacting a monomethyl ester of an iron porphyrin complex represented by formula I, wherein R1 is H, vinyl or ethyl, with a compound represented by formula II, then hydrolyzing the ester part of the product with a base, and reacting the carboxyl groups of the hydrolyzate with a polymer having a primary or secondary amino group in the main chain or the side chain.
