ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA phenolic foam that is non-corrosive to metallicsubstrates over which it is applied is disclosed herein. Thefoam is prepared by hardening an intimate mixture of a conven-tional foamable phenolic resole resin containing a blowingagent, a hardener and a surface active agent, and sodiumtetraborate.
