In a drying chamber, especially for the automotive painting, a system of endless line (25) is provided through which flows a predetermined air quantity and this system is heated by means of a preheater (19). The heated tubes generate heat in the chamber by convection and radiation to dry the paint in a first phase of drying. In a second phase of drying, the hot air escapes in several locations along the pipe system to increase the drying temperature and to ventilate the room.
