The cable is firstly coated with a plastic weather-proof sheath, pref. of polyurethane, polyester, or polyether containing a hardening agent as a zinc chromate additive. The sheath is hardened and an anti-corrosion material e.g. polyurethane, polyether, polyester, is injected under pressure into the sheath to fill the interstitial spaces between the wires. The cables are used particularly for suspension bridges, and have a longer working life.
