Drive for vertical brushes in carwash - has single belt drive with one brush in each half

A drive control for the vertical brushes in a carwash has the two brushes on pendant mountings on a portal, while a single drive belt (2) is run along the top of the portal driven by a single motor. As the brushes are pressed by the vehicle they are swung and engage one of the sides of the drive belt, to pull them to one side. One brush is moved by one half of the belt and the other brush by the other half, to move apart when displaced. This provides a controlled wash pressure with an automatic reset in the centre of the portal when not over a vehicle.(DS).
