The hot water in the coffee machine is circulated between the pressurised hot water pipe (30) and the return pipe (32) which are connected together by parallel pipes (34, 40; 36, 42;38, 44) into which the drinks dispensers (10, 12, 14) are connected, and the heating container (24, 26). Throttle valves (46, 48, 50) are mounted in the paralle pipes and control the rate of flow in propotion to the length of the hot water piep or in inverted ratio to the relevant water temperature. The drinks dispensers (10, 12, 14) are always kept at the same temperature ready for instantaneous use even when this use is intermittent. The heat loss which arises through the longer supply pipes is compensated in that more hot water flows through the more remote supply points.
