The safety belt distance piece is bent into a trapezium shape and slid along the belt by its central portion, while its outer arms hold the belt slightly clear of the body. The central portion can have a central rib with slots either side, the belt being passed through the slots and over the rib. The arms can be rounded at the ends, and the central rib can be split to allow belt insertion.
