The d.c. motor has a device to generate a moment acting against the attenuating component of the drive moment in order to reduce the fluctuations in the drive moment. The counter-moment has a signal opposing that of the average drive moment and is smaller than the latter moment. The control circuit for the drive current pulses also produces the counter-moment and accordingly has a resistor connecting appropriate connections of the winding groups together. The resistor is large compared to the internal resistance of the winding groups, e.g. 30-70 times greater. The motor receives a constant d.c.
