Mined coal breaker dust prevention spraying - involves pumping water at high pressure through nozzles on working tool

The area in which rock or coal is broken up into small pieces by rotating or oscillating breakers, in an underground mine, esp. with continuous breakers, is equipped with devices for spraying water. Nozzles and/or holes are provided on the tool component acting on the rock. Water is pumped to the activating point through these, pref. at several hundred atmospheres absolute pressure. This produces an appropriate mixture of air, vapour and water for an effective agglomeration to combat dust build-up. A wide range of variations are feasible.
