The method involves measuring the current value of the water pressure in the area of the nozzle or nozzle groups. The measured value is assigned to an evaluation unit, which transfers the value to the long wall controller, from which a pressure regulator is hydraulically remote controlled by an electric hydraulic control unit. The pressure regulator regulates the actual pressure value to the reference pressure value which is preset by the control center on the surface.
