Jig for removing electrodeposited zinc from mother cathode - in electrolytic winning of zinc, which is pulled off cathode by suction pads

Jig consists of a frame carrying two coaxial pneumatic cylinders; and the piston rod in each cylinder is used to carry a suction head. Each head is fitted with several spring-loaded suction pads, which are pressed against the zinc on each side of the mother cathode. Vacuum is then applied via manifold tubes to anchor the suction pads on the Zn deposits, so that when heads are retracted, the Zn is stripped from the mother cathode. Jig has a simple design and does not damage the mother cathodes.
