The end anchor has an inwardly conical hollow anchoring unit, containing a radially supported clamping unit to transmit the requisite transverse pressure. It is used to anchor the end of one or more bars of composite fibre material inserted as stress member in prestressed concrete. Use is made of a stop device (19,24) to limit the clamping units (21) axial displacement to an extent sufficient for defined transverse pressure adequate for the requisite friction adhesion between the clamping unit (21) and the stress member, or members (11), passing through it. This can be a sealing plate, with an inside buffer unit for axial clamping unit support. Protective anchorage and improved exploitation of specific tensional rigidity are provided by a simple compact structure.
