摘要

Post-strengthening of structures with externally bonded CFRP strips is state of the art. To take full advantage of this relatively expensive material it is beneficial to apply the strips in a prestressed condition. This relieves the stresses in the steel reinforcement and reduces crack widths and deflections. To avoid anchorage problems the CFRP strip can be bonded with a decreasing prestressing force towards its ends using a stepwise curing process. The result is prestressed CFRP strip without any external anchorage systems.
