The counting circuit is for modules coupled to a belt, the terminal wires being connected to a belt with a light box. The light box consists of a light transmitter and two light receivers. The terminal wires oassing through the light box are distinguished by a direction detector linked to the two light receivers. The counter supplies a display unit with pulses. The counter (9) is preceded by a shift register (8) linked to a logic circuit (12). A preselector switch (11) functions as a divider supplied with a separate pulse produced by the terminal wire (5).
