Pulse selector for selecting wanted non-consecutive pulses - samples train of pulses using input shift register switched to output logic system

The pulse selector is used to select N relevant pulses or elements which are not necessarily consecutive from a large number of pulses (X) in sequence, and consists of a shift register (2) with X stages each of which is coupled to a break switch (3). (The input pulses (1) are applied to this register). The outputs of the switches are all connected to an OR-gate circuit (4) whose output is passed to an AND-gate (5) that also receives the input pulses. A counter (8) monitors the input pulses. The output of the AND-gate can be processed in order to produce a display.
