Universal joint armoured protective boot - has outer ends of sealing bellows protruding from armoured ring

The armoured protective boot is for universal joints, particularly those driving vehicle wheels. Sealing of the lubricant-filled chamber between the outer coupling half and the shaft is by a component of material such as rubber forming two rolling bellows, and encased by an armoured ring for protection. The two bellows forming the seal are so arranged that their outer ends protrude from the ring. The inner end of one bellows is fixed to the outer coupling half, while that of the other is fixed to the shaft.
