Impure coal dressing process - uses dry dressing by air sifter with subsequent heavy medium dressing

The dressing process is used for coal with high loam content. The coal enters the size-reducing and sifting stage (2). The sifted product is fed into stage (4) where it is processed by an air sifter with simultaneous drying, while heat for the drying is obtained by burning gases produced during production of coke. The powder fraction is discharged in direction of arrow (5) to be used in a power plant or for production of gas. The coarse fraction is ducted to the dry sorting (7), the rejected deads are transported to desits or used for back filling. The remaining part of the coal is fed into the heavy medium dressing (10), from which low ash content coal fraction suitable for coke production according to arrow (11), and a high ash content fraction (12) for gas production or combustion is obtained.
