The overvoltage protection device has a circuit board (11) coated on both sides, provided with through contacts and mounted in the main distribution frame and with both its sides accessible. The boards (15) for protection lines are fixed to the connection strips (12) and the side of the main distribution frame's (10) circuit board (11) opposite the plug connectors (13). The boards are parallel and between the series of connection strips and plug connectors. The boards have connection pins with which they can be inserted at right angles into holes in the circuit board.
