The pallet sy tem is designed for use in the foodstuffs industry. The transport or storage units consist of flat pallets with slides or skids with detachable superimposed containers or shelf type frame constructions. The sides of the frame of these constructions can be at least partially locked to each other and includes corner stops to position the skid end sections. A base pallet without skids and fitted only with four corner feet is provided as a contamination barrier between the floor and one transport or storage unit.
