The heavy structure hydro-mechanical tipping gear uses horizontal rams underneath the structure, together with a tipping bearing. Part of the underframe (1) forms a bottom cam (5), above which is a top one (7) formed on the underside of the tipping structure (6) and also incorporating a socket (8), in which the roller head (4) of the ram (2) engages after travelling between the cams. The tipping bearing (10) can be welded and bolted to one end of the tipping structure, and also welded to a roller (11) turning in the underframe. The design avoids the need for a long-stroke ram.
