The cam control device includes a spring biasing device which biases an abutment roller against a control cam wheel. The abutment roller is arranged on a cam rocker (4). A spring device of the biasing device engages with the cam rocker via a cam roller gear (26). The cam track (11) of the cam roller gear is preferably formed on the cam rocker. An independent claim is included for a method of spring-biasing an abutment roller.
