Solar energy collector - using absorbent selective liq. to transform solar radiation into heat

Solar energy collector for the prodn. of hot water for domestic and industrial purposes makes use of a dark-coloured fluid of low vapour pressure to transform in its mass solar radiation into heat. Collector comprises a combination of a double glazed insulating with a baffled circuit. For medium pressures it has a circuit comprising a transparent tube bundle with single glazing. The fluid can be glycol soln. or other mineral or organic agent of low vapour press.. These fluids can be selective. The appts. is lighter, more economical, easier to construct and maintain, occupies less space and is more efficient than existing appts.. Heat losses, thermal inertia and pressure drop are reduced.
