摘要

This paper presents the results obtained through two series of experiments with a new type of integral collector storage unit for domestic use. The objective of these experiments was to improve the behaviour of the design by using alternative materials to reduce the high thermal losses that the previous prototypes have shown. The series were distributed in order to cover three representative seasons of the year. The results obtained showed that the addition of a glass cover in the first series and a selective absorber surface in the second one allowed to reduce the heat losses, which implies an improvement in the performance of the unit. In order to compare the results obtained in different groups of experiments a relative substitution index was defined. The results are presented by means of tables and plots.
