Conversion of highway kerb into dwarf wall - uses precast blocks which house over and are bonded to existing kerb and have rounded top corners

The process for raising existing kerbs (1) uses profiled precast concrete blocks (2) which are bonded onto the existing kerb (1). This forms a continuous dwarf wall which affords greater pedestrian security. Each unit may have a 45 deg. front face splay (8) extending between vertical margins at the head (11A) and foot (11). The top corners are rounded, and a horizontal base (7) has a back edge rebate (5) which is shaped to follow the precise front and top face profile (6) of the existing kerb (1). Each block includes a fence post socket (12) with rebated end faces for drainage slot holes.
