The telescopic front suspension fork for a motorcycle is made up of two tubes (1,2) containing oil (8), sliding one inside the other, and may contain a metal spring (4) and an hydraulic damper rod (5). The volume above the oil level (9) is occupied by air and is divided into two compartments (12,13) connected to each other by a jet (15) with a calibrated orifice (16), which constricts the passage of gas from one compartment to the other. This provides additional damping.
