The barrel strap consists of a continuous loop (1) which encircles the barrel. Each end of the strap has a loop to take a hinge pin (10,11). The double beam (4) is hinged at one end by the pin (10). The other end of the strap is attached to the mid point of the lever (3). The lever is hinged at one pin (11). The lever is channel shaped and has two slots (12) in the sides of the channel to allow squeezing of the metal. The distorted ribs latch under the rib (13) in the strap and lock the lever down onto the strap.
