This row-in-row corncob harvester comprises as a frame a box-beam structure 25 at the rear of each cutting unit 30 to house the gears necessary for driving the gatherer chains and stem rollers. This unitary unit frame structure is mounted on the frame of the harvesting member by means of two pairs of Z-shaped clamping pieces 36, giving rise to a cutting unit structure which is robust, stable, slightly expensive and light.
