The heat recuperation system suitable for a heating system using hot water, obtains the heat from waste water such as bath water, washing water etc. The waste water is passed through a tank (13) enclosed in a larger tank (14) which contains water for the heating system. This double tank can be used for preheating cold water which is later heated to a higher temperature for e.g. central heating. The larger tank has a cold water connection (3) at the bottom and outlet (4) at the top. The smaller, inner tank has a top inlet (1) and bottom outlet (2) connection. A heat exchange coil can be used instead of the inner tank.
